2 Easy Ways to treat Brown Spots, Sun Spots & Melasma - Page

What is Hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is any patch of skin that is darker than the normal surrounding skin. This darkening effect  is a common condition occurring when an excess of melanin forms deposits in the skin. You will most likely see these patches or age spots on areas of the skin that receive the most sun exposure. (i.e. face, chest, arms, hands, lower legs and shoulders)

Hormonal Hyperpigmentation, also known as melasma, is also triggered by sun exposure. Melasma is a common skin condition that usually shows itself in women during child bearing years. While we are unsure of why exactly one gets melasma, there has been a direct correlation between sun exposure, pregnancy and/or birth control pills leading up to its diagnosis and condition.
