1. How long is the recovery? Blepharoplasty with a laser heals much faster than traditional blepharoplasty. You can easily have the surgery done on a Friday, take a week’s vacation from work (or just a couple of days, if you have only the lower lids done) and return to work the next week to comments from your co-workers about how rested and radiant you look.
2. How long does the laser blepharoplasty take? The length of the procedure depends on the extent of repair and restoration that needs to be done on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or both. A standard procedure usually takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete.
3. Am I asleep during the procedure? No, but you may be given sedating medication through IV infusion. This “conscious sedation” will allow you to have the procedure in a relaxed state and significantly reduce discomfort.
