The word “dessert” seems synonymous with the Holidays. Even though it is nearly impossible to think of dessert as healthy, there are some ingredients that can give your skin a boost.
Apples are one of these ingredients. USDA scientists recently investigated over 100 foods to measure their antioxidant concentration per serving size. According to the study, “Red Delicious and Granny Smith Apples—ranked 12th and 13th respectively.” Antioxidants are disease-fighting compounds that are believed to help prevent and repair oxidation damage that happens during normal cell activity.
This delicious recipe from Dr. Asarch’s book with Chef De Cuisine Neal Mendel,The Beautiful Skin Diet, may be just what your skin needs this Holiday Season.
