New Non-Invasive Tightening for Face with No Down Time
Read the Frequently Asked Questions.
The Asarch Center for Dermatology and Laser has introduced a new, remarkable technology, The ThermaCool TC System. The radio frequency technology used in this system causes both a contraction of the skin and the release of growth factors, without damaging the surface of the skin. This office procedure minimizes wrinkles and tightens drooping skin, often in just one treatment.
Dr. Asarch, the first physician in Colorado to perform the Thermage™ procedure, is very impressed with the technology. Patients see a tightening of their skin without the extreme pulled appearance that often accompanies invasive procedures. Unlike laser resurfacing or a traditional facelift, patients do not need to take time off from work to recover or undergo the risk of anesthesia.
The introduction of the ThermaCool TC System does not mean that other types of surgeries or rejuvenation procedures like the CO2, Erbium, V Star lasers or traditional facelift have been rendered obsolete. On the contrary, these technologies are still appropriate to improve specific conditions. Candidacy for any procedure is determined at the time of consultation.
However, the Thermage procedure represents a major advancement for non-invasive cosmetic surgery. This procedure will make a great impact on the lives of patients seeking to improve their appearance without taking time off from work, and without the pain and discomfort of a prolonged recovery period. Many of our patients have already benefited from the Thermage procedure, and once more people become aware of the technology, the excitement can only continue.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Thermage Procedure
What are the results really like?
The results can vary from individual to individual and depend on a number of factors including age, the area treated, the amount of laxity in the skin, and how well a patient's skin responds. Some patients see improvement within a few days, but for most people, the results become apparent over a period of three to five months. The level of improvement also varies, and will range from little or no improvement to dramatic difference. Photographs are taken before the procedure so that, over time, the benefits of the treatment can be measured by both patients and medical staff.
How does the technology work?
The ThermaCool TC System was developed to tighten skin without surgery. The radio frequencies produced by the system heat the tissue below the surface of the skin's surface. This heat causes contraction of the underlying collagen fibers and also releases growth factors. Since there is no damage to the top layer of the skin, patients can return to normal activity immediately.
What are the treatments like? Do I need anesthesia?
The areas to be treated will be numbed first using a topical cream or gel. This is applied approximately 30-40 minutes before the procedure is performed. Instructions and the topical medication will be given to you. The treatment is performed in small squares over the desire area(s). The anesthetic cream is used since the heat produced by the system causes some discomfort.
How long does the treatment take?
The length of time required for the procedure depends on the size of the areas to be treated. Usually 30 to 45 minutes is required.
Will I need a second treatment?
Some patients may require more than one treatment to achieve the desired results. However, because the results takes months to completely manifest themselves, additional treatments are not performed until at least 3 to 4 months have passed. During this period of time, your skin is producing new collagen and it is best to wait for this to occur before repeating treatments. Physicians at the Asarch Center or dermaSpa will discuss this option with patients during their follow up visits.
When can I go back to work?
Most patients can resume their normal activities right away. Some patients may see some redness that generally disappears within a few hours. Rarely, a patient may see some small blisters or crusting which disappears in a few days.
