A harmless skin growth seen in adults.
Seborrheic keratoses are harmless common skin growths that first appear during adult life. Some people have inherited a tendency to develop a very large number of them. They begin as slightly raised, light brown spots most often on the trunk. Gradually they thicken and take on a rough, warty surface which makes them appear darker and may turn black. Seborrheic keratoses are superficial and look as if they were stuck on the skin.

They can be treated with light freezing but the treatment is considered a cosmetic procedure by most insurance companies.
